My head is spinning more than it ever has (including being back to work after maternity leaves), but it feels good to be back using my brain for something other than homeschool preschool!
As I got ready for students, I quickly realized that planning sessions were going to take a whole different way of planning. Students socially distanced, not playing games, and not sharing objects.
For the first week, we did an introduction activity, reviewed expected behaviors, and then I pulled out my collection of Julia Cook books and let them choose.

I recently got her newest book, I Have Ants in My Pants, from Julia Cooke and The National Center for Youth Issues and it is a keeper. Good ol’ Lois is back at it and having trouble sitting still. This came at a PERFECT time for my kiddos who are suddenly sitting in one classroom each day and struggling to get their wiggles out. Lois learns to get his wiggles out in a productive way, something you can then translate to school for your own students.
I’m giving a copy away on Instgram (winner chosen Wednesday September 9th, 2020), so head over there, or grab your own copy on Amazon!
